“I loved the art residency in Varsi. It has been exciting to make my first screen print. Working with layers is very challenging and new to me, it’s a much more methodical process than I’m used to. And I’ve learned that planning and discipline is key. Thanks to workshop master Arturo, I have discovered a whole new universe of possibilities, and am looking forward to experimenting more!”

Cinta Vidal

Cinta Vidal took part in the Residency Program at Varsi Lab in Rome. During her residency, the artist collaborated with 56 Fili Studio to explore the silkscreen technique for the first time. She worked on both limited edition works and unique pieces, showcasing her meticulous and captivating approach to composition.

Cinta’s unique style blends surrealism and architecture, which is presented in her series “Community”. This series includes a 13-layer colored silkscreen on paper in an edition of 60 and a special 14-layer print on a wood panel in an edition of 10, with final hand-painted details.

This work reflects Vidal‘s ability to master a new medium and create a fresh approach to her composition. “Community” explores how an individual’s perspective may differ from their surrounding environments, having the ability to traverse through life itself.

“I am interested in the interaction between internal perceptions and urban architecture. Concrete architecture pursues functionalism and the elimination of conventionalism and ornamentation. I observe how concrete, although rigid, protects the life that passes through it. The multiplicity of perceptions of the environment is an idea that intrigues me. I find that everyday life can contain both common elements and unsuspected depths. With these pieces, I’m looking for the confrontation between a parallel and ordered structure with the “disorder” of the various orientations. I love to focus on the shared aspects of human experience rather than individuality”.
