Varsi Art&Lab is pleased to present the first residency at the new Varsi Lab. This new space opens its doors with the Open Studio Residency of Gonzalo Borondo.

The Spanish artist has worked during the last weeks together with 56Fili in our screen printing lab to the realization of a series of limited edition works exclusively for Varsi Art&Lab.

Varsi Lab was born from the desire to create a space that could become a place of contamination, experimentation, and meeting of visions and skills, experiences, and paths.

The two “Fundamenta” series take shape precisely from the aesthetic and technical research and cohesion between different approaches and methods: painting, screen printing, monotype, and cyanotype merge to create a series of unique works.

On the occasion of the presentation of the residency, the series of works created by Borondo in his studio in Segovia, entitled “Monumenta”, will also be on display.  The series collects seven works in mixed media on aluminum plate and tells about the relationship between man and the sense of eternity represented by the monument.
