Artist info

Nico Jacoby

Nico Jacoby (1988), is a Hamburg native and currently living in the Amsterdam area. With a strong interest in art, design, and underground culture he graduated in visual communication at the Design Factory in Hamburg. After stints in graphic design, art direction, and music, he transitioned into tattooing in 2015. His tattoo art plays with simple lines and forms, closely following the shape of the body. Through the repetition of lines he creates various images. This creates a distinct style, but deeply grounded in historical pratices. In 2020 he co-founded the studio "Mosel Mosel" together with Emiel Steenhuizen. Next to tattooing, he works on painting and photography, exploring new artistic frontiers.

While solar winds ravage Venus, Earth is turned into a green garden by the touch of the sun. A sanctuary of biodiversity. But this sanctuary is gradually endangered by humanity’s bursts of energy. Skies filled with rockets, the smoke of wildfires, and the red haze of climate change. Everything that is created can be destroyed. When do we learn to use or own fire to create sanctuaries, instead of breaking them down?
