VARSI Art & Lab is excited to announce its new opening in the heart of Trastevere, precisely in Piazza San Cosimato, Rome. This new space aims to be a reference point for contemporary art and culture, thus extending Varsi’s platform for creative expression and interaction between artists, artisans, and visitors.

Piazza San Cosimato: The Beating Heart of Rome

The decision to establish VARSI Art & Lab at Piazza San Cosimato was deliberate. The square serves as the vibrant center of the Trastevere community, fostering cultural exchange and social interaction. Artists, craftsmen, and locals converge here, contributing to a distinctive creative environment.

Trastevere: Synthesis of Art, Culture and History

Trastevere district is renowned for its distinctive and charming atmosphere, characterized by narrow streets, colorful walls, and vibrant nightlife. However, Trastevere offers much more: it represents a perfect fusion of art, culture, and history. Here, remnants of the past intertwine with contemporary artistic expressions, forming a stimulating and inspiring environment.

Varsi 2013 -2024

In 2023, Varsi celebrated its tenth anniversary by promoting contemporary art movements with a strong emphasis on engaging the audience through workshops, open studios, and events. For the new year, VARSI Art & Lab aims to establish a new creative and artisanal presence in the city of Rome by opening a new art headquarters.

The residency program for Italian and international artists allows Varsi to collaborate with Roman artisans who are essential to Varsi’s productions. These artisans include 56Fili (a screen printing workshop), She.Lab (a creative binding workshop), and B/34 (a design workshop). Varsi recently relocated its workshop where it continues its collaboration to develop new art productions.

These artisans work alongside artists, blending themes, techniques, skills, and artistic visions. Varsi provides a platform for experimenting with different media and styles, always pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms.

The new Varsi in Trastevere is dedicated to showcasing works of art and limited editions. Visitors have the opportunity to discover the work of contemporary artists who are making an impact on the art scene. The goal is to embrace a craft approach to art, providing a fresh perspective on the research and aesthetics of these artists.

The new VARSI Art & Lab space will showcase the research findings from the creative hub, allowing you to uncover the secrets of artistic production.
