MP5

The work of MP5 is well-known for their incisive use of black and white in various forms of mediaTheir has a background in set design for theater and video animation, which have influenced their research in different fields, such as audio/video installations and outdoor interventions.

Their works offer a critical and politically engaged perspective of reality. Having grown up in the underground art scene and European counterculture, MP5 have recently focused their work on issues related to bodies and gender.

Their artworks have been featured in international museums and galleries, including the La Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome, Centro Pecci in Prato, La Tour 13 in Paris, Il Mattatoio in Rome, Wunderkammern Gallery, Lazarides Gallery in London, and Dopeness Gallery in Taipei. Their have also created public artistic interventions in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Their images have been published in several magazines, such as Rolling Stone, The New York Times, i-D Vice, Le Monde Diplomatique, Vogue, and Juxtapoz. MP5’s images have become a symbol of the Non-Una di Meno movement and have been featured on the covers of books, including Morgana by Michela Murgia and Chiara Tagliaferri, and Corpi Minori by Jonathan Bazzi.

They have worked on the cover and graphics for the 2019 Turin Book Fair and collaborated with stylist and designer Agnes B. from 2018 to 2022. Together with Alessandro Michele, they curated the art direction of Gucci’s global gender equality campaign, Chime for Change. In 2023, Rizzoli Lizard published her first monograph book, Corpus, containing a valuable collection of their productions.
